The Dan DeChellis Trio
The Dan DeChellis Trio
Dan DeChellis has been described as “a pianist with plenty to say, covering a broad emotional spectrum while creating music that speaks clearly, succinctly and directly to the mind, body, and soul." Dan DeChellis is focused on direct and melodic music that connects to his audience in the straightest line possible. He is concerned with making music that engages not only the well versed jazz listener but the non jazz fan as well.

With his latest release, “Moving Mountain’s” DeChellis seeks to blend the classical and jazz elements he acquired in college with the rock and ambient qualities in his own broad listening. This music is accessible to all and embraces a wide variety of influences. He is currently promoting and touring behind his
latest release.

DeChellis has performed in a wide variety of genres, from traditional jazz to free improvisation and rock/pop. He owned and ran Sachimay Records for over 10 years releasing numerous freely improvised music CD’s with a variety musicians
and was the founder of The Improvised and Otherwise Festival in New York City.

He has worked with: Gerry Hemingway, Gene Perla, Paul Bley, Ran Blake, Tatsuya Nakatani, Ravish Momin, Jack Wright and Matt Maneri.

Dan is currently a music professor at Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA where he teaches improvisation, jazz piano and directs the Moravian Improvised Music Ensemble.
