ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Kategory 5 is a powerhouse collaboration of some of the area's most experienced musicians.  Covering a wide range of genres, their goal is to provide a full course feast for the ears.
Kat Pigliacampi (lead and backing vocals and keyboards), originally from Delaware has been a Chadds Ford resident for 12 yrs.  She has been in numerous regional bands, and community theatre for over 30 years.  She has shared the stage with notable musicians and actors from NYC to DC.  The 70's/80's show is her favorite – since she performed many of these songs when they were 'new'!
Kyle Frederick (bass guitar)is a Delaware native and has been playing the bass for over 25 yrs.  His previous projects include the local bands 13th Floor , No Comment , Monster Joe, Goodfellas and Echoes (Pink Floyd tribute).  Kyle is the band ornament and scapegoat – aka 'Karl Leah Karloff'
Andy Logue (lead guitar, lead and backing vocals), has been playing guitar for 44 yrs, taking up the acoustic guitar at age 6 even though his mom said he'd never stick with it! Nevertheless, Andy took lessons until he caught his teacher playing "Stairway to Heaven" and the rest is history.  Andy is deeply immersed in local music and plays guitar with KRUSH, the area's premier Rush Tribute band.  His quick wit and humor almost surpass his musical talent!
Al Mullins (drums, lead and backing vocals), a Delaware native, started playing drums at 7 yrs old.  His previous projects include Monster Joe, and 13th Floor.  Al is the stabilizing force in the band.  He is the keeper of the remote for the 3 members who need a shock collar.
John Cassidy (lead and backing vocals, guitar, keyboards) was born a musical virtuoso.  A Delaware native, he has been active in local music since 1981 as a performer, writer, and visionary.  He has mastered all band instruments, having played drums originally in the Pink Floyd Tribute band 'Echoes'.  John is a gifted composer as well as the band musical director.  John's talents also include giving the 'stink eye' when a member gets out of line.
John, Kyle and Al were all in the band 13th floor together – back when mullets were actually in style.   John and Kyle are the owners of Crazy Diamond Recording Studio in Newark, DE.
Be a part of something special at this exclusive debut and join Kat, John, Andy, Al, and Kyle for an unforgettable evening of musical nostalgia and humor.

Danielle Cuoco

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Danielle is no stranger to the stage. Her passion for music and performance was ignited at the early age of 9 after she was cast in her first musical production at The Delaware Children's Theatre. That is where she first connected with Kat Pigliacampi, lead vocalist in the group Kategory 5. Danielle's passion for music exploded when that same year she received a keyboard as a gift. Danielle started to teach herself piano by ear. To this day, Danielle loves to challenge herself to hear any song on the radio, and play it back by piano, simply by ear. Danielle loves (and performs) all kinds of music – from classic to pop, but she has a special place in her heart for Queen.

Now at age 14, Danielle, an accomplished vocalist, has performed The National Anthem at Winterthur's Point-to-Point, as well as for The Blue Rocks, The Long Island Ducks, The Girls On the Run 5k, the Cowtown Rodeo, and at Legislative Hall in Dover, DE. In 2011, Danielle won The Blue Rock's Idol Competition, and, in 2012, Danielle won the Newark Idol Competition for the 14 and Under Youth Group. This past summer, Danielle was one of the youngest attendees at the 2014 Vocal Summit at the Berklee College of Music. She just recorded her first original song, "Is This Me." She also has performed at the Rockwood Ice Cream Festival, and most recently, performed at The Ladybug Music Festival in Wilmington, Delaware. Danielle also has performed at The World Café Live – The Queen.
Danielle currently is a busy freshman at Archmere Academy. She continues to write and sing whenever she can, but also enjoys running cross-country, track, and riding ridiculously scary roller coasters. She is very excited to perform at the Kennett Flash.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

"Richey entices you with sad and unembellished music that reveals an original spirit - and then she ensnares you for keeps by making you consider all the noiseless sensations that no songs can ever contain." Timothy White, Billboard Magazine

Those artists who find themselves stuck in the deepest of ruts two decades into their careers could learn a thing or two from veteran singer-songwriter Kim Richey. She's never been afraid to go where the inspiration is. Two-time Grammy-nominated Kim is a storyteller; a weaver of emotions and a tugger of heartstrings. Tender, poetic and aching with life's truths, Kim's songs transport you to her world, where words paint pictures and melodies touch the soul. And then there's her voice. Pure, arresting and honest, it makes you take notice; Kim has the kind of voice where if emotions were ribbons, they'd be streaming in rainbow colours from your iPod.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
In a career that now spans two decades, New York duo Pete and Maura Kennedy have traversed a broad musical landscape, surveying power pop, acoustic songwriting, organic rock rooted in their early days in Austin, and a Byrds-inspired jangle that drew the attention of Roger McGuinn, Steve Earle, a nd most notably Nanci Griffith. The duo co-produced Nanci's latest CD. On their own recent release, "Closer Than You Know", the songs have a quality, inherent in Maura's voice, that is both soothing and urgent. As writers and producers, the Kennedys continue to mature, from their early style-conscious pop to today's burnished sheen. Always tuned to their own muse, Pete and Maura have once again come up with a unique sound that is as uplifting as it is unclassifiable.

Mason Porter
WEBSITE

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Born out of regular late night jam sessions in West Chester, PA, Mason Porter formed in 2006 with Tim Celfo on upright bass, Joe D'Amico on mandolin, and Paul Wilkinson on guitar. Mason Porter released their debut EP Mason Porter (2008) resulting in immediate praise and momentum. Les McIntyre of Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine wrote of this inaugural recording "The music of Mason Porter could be best described as alternative bluegrass…in this debut recording, the eclectic trio show musical prowess that is difficult to overlook." Following up with full lengths Thunder In The Valley (2009) and a collection of traditional folk and covers Story Of the Rifle (2011), the band became a fixture on the regional folk and bluegrass scenes. Through the process of writing, recording and constant gigging, the band developed its original sound blending folk, rock, blues, country and bluegrass influences into the unique personality that IS Mason Porter. Their latest release Home For The Harvest, due out in January 2014, presents an engaging and personal Mason Porter, placing the emphasis on lyrics, songwriting and their signature vocal harmonies. "Mason Porter conveys a sense of warmth. Its CSN-esque harmonies ring out, its songs (and interpretations of others' songs) carry strongly performed as a full band as much as an acoustic trio" John Vettese, The Key.
Mason Porter has been included in the line-up of many of the venerable Philadelphia-area festivals, including Appel Farm Music and Arts Festival, The Philadelphia Folk Festival, and Spring Gulch Folk Festival. Their first performance at the Philadelphia Folk Festival garnered great reviews, including Dennis Bakay's of Philly2Philly.com statement "The band I was most impressed with, was Mason Porter" Helen Leicht of WXPN said of their Philly Folk Fest set, "They really rallied everyone at the Folk Fest around with their old timey folk feel – but with a real indie spirit." The band was invited back in 2012, this time adding a special presentation for the 100th birthday of Woody Guthrie. Mason Porter has solidified an enthusiastic state-wide fan base by becoming staple favorites at many of the smaller community-based festivals throughout PA including O.A.T.S., N.E.P.A., and Smoked Country Jam.
Performing regularly at many of the area's top venues, they have shared the stage with nationally recognized acts including Ralph Stanley, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Peter Rowan, Larry Keel and Natural Bridge, New Riders Of The Purple Sage, Greensky Bluegrass, Enter the Haggis, Carrie Rodriguez, The Hackensaw Boys and Hoots and Hellmouth.
