NO STRINGZ ATTACHED

NO STRINGZ ATTACHED performed their "first experimental gig" at Open Mic at the Flash on January 9th, 2010. Though band members tune in and out of this "Eclectic Electric and Sassy" band, it remains the same! This mostly female band does every song a little different — it's their prerogative! The band has an enthusiastic energy that is sure to keep you entertained. No Stringz Attached's Band Motto is "We are not here for a long time ... so lets make it a good time!"
Kathy Layfield, lead vocals and keys has sang with The David Letterman Hors and Mark Farner of Grand Funk Railroad. Among numerous bands, she is the lead singer for Club Phred. Suzanne Ludwig is incredibly talented on electric violin and guitar. She is currently the fiddler in Chapel Street Junction and The Cole Younger Band. Suzanne has played with Club Phred. She is an instructor at The School of Rock. In August of 2012, Michele MCann, of Mythica joined NSA to play gigs at Hartefelt, DiPalos, and The Queen in Wilmington. Michele is like the clowns, that keep coming out of the little VW Bug — pulling out a new instrument every per4formance. But her most unique is the Hurdy Gurdy and the Bodhran. Michael is adored by Club Phred! She is also a DJ on WVUD.
Chesapeake Inn will never be the same — A Mummer present said NSA was "wicked sexy!" as they dressed in Irish outfits learned 24 new songs and played St. Patricks Day. What talent!!! See NO STRINGZ ATTACHED perform Salty Dog on YouTube. Recently playing at Twin Lakes brewery the band received a standing ovation! Augie Parodi played drums with you guessed it — Club Phred! Augie is versatile on the keys, guitar and the bass. At Designer Consigner with Miss Teen Delaware 2012 who signed "NO STRINGZ ATTACHED is Awesome"! Tom Noone of Newark is one of the best drumming talents. After all with a last name like Ludwig — Suzanne knows! Tom also played with Club Phred, but currently he is much in demand with his bands — Green Eggs and Jam and Tony Travalini!

The Cole Younger Band

John Pollard, a Delaware native, is a locally acclaimed singer/songwriter. In the early 1980s, he formed The Cole Younger Band, taking the name of the legendary outlaw for the group. Along with other original music he's written over the years, he's created several songs about the Younger and James Brothers' exploits in the old west.
John has just released a new CD, “IF THE HEAVENS FALL" featuring 13 new John Pollard originals.
John has previously released solo CD's “Nothing Personal” "Winds of Time" and "My Bethany". These albums reflect John's personal life experiences as well as his love of the beach. In September of 2006, John was invited to perform the title track on his second solo CD, "My Bethany", for the dedication ceremony of the new Bethany Beach Bandstand, where his music was enthusiastically received.
John performs most often at the Wellwood Yacht Club and Paradocx Winery. Listen for his music on WDUV and WSTW's Hometown Heroes.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Thursday, August 8th, 1974. President Richard M. Nixon resigns, and The Sin City Band played their very first show kicking off a 3 day run at Dimitris' Restaurant on old rt.9 between Henniker and Hillsboro, New Hampshire. After the ex-pres signed off, SCB signed on with The Eagles "Take It Easy" (2nd song was "White Line Fever" by Merle Haggard...). Moving to The Brandywine Valley in August, 1975, SCB has played from The Grand Opera House to The Grand Bahamas... from the Rocky Mountains to the Hills of Kennett Square (hello Barnwood Tavern!). Playing all the many American genres (with their original, beloved "country-rock" leading the way), and with the usual shifts in personnel, the core remains founder Scott Birney, David Berry (1975), and Steve Hobson (1976). Jim Ficca joined in 1985 and Alan Berdoulay first sat in around the turn of the century. The fellas feel that there is no better place to kick off their 40th anniversary summer than at The Kennett Flash. As with any Sin City show, expect the unexpected with special guests and a musical grab-bag of original songs and favorite standards. Here's to the next 40!

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Kategory 5 is a powerhouse collaboration of some of the area's most experienced musicians.  Covering a wide range of genres, their goal is to provide a full course feast for the ears.

Kat Pigliacampi (lead and backing vocals and keyboards), originally from Delaware has been a Chadds Ford resident for 12 yrs.  She has been in numerous regional bands, and community theatre for over 30 years.  She has shared the stage with notable musicians and actors from NYC to DC.  The 70's/80's show is her favorite – since she performed many of these songs when they were 'new'!

Kyle Frederick (bass guitar)is a Delaware native and has been playing the bass for over 25 yrs.  His previous projects include the local bands 13th Floor , No Comment , Monster Joe, Goodfellas and Echoes (Pink Floyd tribute).  Kyle is the band ornament and scapegoat – aka 'Karl Leah Karloff'

Andy Logue (lead guitar, lead and backing vocals), has been playing guitar for 44 yrs, taking up the acoustic guitar at age 6 even though his mom said he'd never stick with it! Nevertheless, Andy took lessons until he caught his teacher playing "Stairway to Heaven" and the rest is history.  Andy is deeply immersed in local music and plays guitar with KRUSH, the area's premier Rush Tribute band.  His quick wit and humor almost surpass his musical talent!

Al Mullins (drums, lead and backing vocals), a Delaware native, started playing drums at 7 yrs old.  His previous projects include Monster Joe, and 13th Floor.  Al is the stabilizing force in the band.  He is the keeper of the remote for the 3 members who need a shock collar.

John Cassidy (lead and backing vocals, guitar, keyboards) was born a musical virtuoso.  A Delaware native, he has been active in local music since 1981 as a performer, writer, and visionary.  He has mastered all band instruments, having played drums originally in the Pink Floyd Tribute band 'Echoes'.  John is a gifted composer as well as the band musical director.  John's talents also include giving the 'stink eye' when a member gets out of line.

John, Kyle and Al were all in the band 13th floor together – back when mullets were actually in style.   John and Kyle are the owners of Crazy Diamond Recording Studio in Newark, DE.

Be a part of something special at this exclusive debut and join Kat, John, Andy, Al, and Kyle for an unforgettable evening of musical nostalgia and humor.

Steve Forbert
WEBSITE

ABOUT THE ARTIST
As a young man from Meridian, Mississippi, Steve Forbert traveled to New York City and played guitar for spare change in Grand Central Station. He vaulted to international prominence with a folk-rock hit, “Romeo's Tune,” during a time when rootsy rock was fading out and the Ramones, Talking Heads and other New Wave and punk acts were moving in to the public consciousness. Still, critics raved about Steve's poetic lyrics and engaging melodies, and the crowds at CBGB's club in New York accepted him alongside those acts. “I've never been interested in changing what I do to fit emerging trends,” Forbert observes. “Looking back on it, I was helping to keep a particular American songwriting tradition alive at a time when it wasn't in the spotlight.”

After his first two records came a plethora of well-crafted, unforgettable songs on such albums as Little Stevie Orbit, Streets of This Town, The American in Me, Mission of the Crossroad Palms and Evergreen Boy. His tribute to Jimmie Rodgers, Any Old Time, was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2004. In October 2012, 35 years after his first album, Steve has released an exciting new one, Over With You. Its ten fresh but mature songs pinpoint a wide range of emotions that color personal relationships — emotions that most listeners have undoubtedly felt and struggled to understand at some point in their lives. “This is an album that has taken a lifetime to make,” explains Forbert. “You don't just pull these songs out of thin air — you have to live them.”
