The Kennett Flash is proud to present the 2024 Singer-Songwriter Showcase! Four original, local singer-songwriters will grace our stage to perform original music and influential covers for our audiences! Come out and support live local music in Kennett! Each artist performs for 30 minutes.

THE LOWER AETNA is the musical project helmed by Dylan Gallimore, an independent musician and writer based in Philadelphia. Drawing from a deep well of wide-ranging indie, classic rock, and alt country influences, The Lower Aetna creates story-driven songs that shine an uncommonly empathetic spotlight on messy, complicated everyday characters. Since 2021, The Lower Aetna has brought its unique brand of Springsteen-tinged rock n roll to clubs and bars in and around Philadelphia. The Lower Aetna‘s debut record Waiting For God To Turn On The Lights is now streaming on all major platforms, and sophomore effort Pine is set for release in Summer 2024. To connect, follow @theloweraetna_phl on Instagram, or visit www.theloweraetna.com.

KATHY QUINN is a native of Delaware County and a member of the Philadelphia Area Songwriters’ Alliance. She writes and performs songs that are inspired by a curious mixture of deep sorrow, jubilant mirth, and snarky wit. Her songs will make you ponder, laugh, and maybe even brush away a tear. Due to a long immersion in the local community theater scene, Kathy also enjoys being on stage, hamming it up, and getting the audience involved. She is currently working in the studio on a collection of her best songs. Stay tuned for the release date!

ANN RAMSEY is a long-time fingerstyle guitar-player, who has recently discovered songwriting. Inspired by traditional story-songs and ballads, she’s written 50 songs since early 2022. Her guitar work, singing, and lyrics are described as “entrancing,” and “haunting.” She’s active in the Philadelphia Area Songwriters Alliance (PASA) and the Philadelphia Folksong Society (PFS), among other groups. She received a 2023 Artist Opportunity grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts. She’s an alum of Eliza Gilkyson’s 2024 intensive songwriting workshop, as well as Richard Thompson’s 2023 Frets & Refrains songwriting week in the Catskills. Ann has studied guitar under Guy Van Duser, and songwriting under Nashville recording artist Korby Lenker. Find her original demos at: https://soundcloud.com/annramsey

JIM REZAC – 2024 is proving to be a Big one for the Delaware native.  In the spring, “Telescope”, Rezacs’ first self written/recorded/produced/mastered & distributed LP came out.  His song, “Trying 2 Be An Angel” was picked up by a feature film for release later this year (the movie is ‘Meathook’…I’m not making that up!). And this year will mark Jim’s 5th trip in a row to the Best and Biggest Free outdoor music festival in the U.S…. MUSIKFEST!   Musikfest, a 10-Day festival in Bethlehem has become a favorite showcase for the songwriter. And a few years ago, the songwriter/performer won Best Song for a Fictional Podcast for his “Theme to Muckey Landing” at the international event, New Jersey Web Fest.   (The podcast itself went on to win Outstanding Comedy as well).
