Hailing from South Carolina and New York, respectively, Danielle Howle and Rachael Sage have long been musical sisters and friends. Kindred spirits in many ways — including their mutual appreciation for poetic lyrics and timeless melodies, as well as a passion for social activism — each of these prolific and empowered songwriters/producers are highly accomplished, yet refreshingly down-to-earth. Expect a healthy dose of off-kilter humor and uproarious antics alongside introspective lyricism and top-notch musicianship, in a transformative evening of uplift from two of contemporary folk’s most memorable live performers.

DANIELLE HOWLEA lifelong artist and natural storyteller hailing from South Carolina, Danielle Howle has released well over a dozen studio albums in a four-decade career that has traversed genres, styles, and cultures, encompassing everything from country-swamp-blues and jazz to folk, southern rock, indie, and Americana – all while endlessly exploring the depths of the human condition. She’s opened for legends like Bob Dylan and Bonnie Raitt, toured with Indigo Girls, and was a close friend of the late singer/songwriter Elliott Smith. RACHAEL SAGE is a soulful vocalist, innovative multi-instrumentalist and award-winning singer/songwriter and producer from NY who has earned a loyal international following for her dynamic piano playing, delicate guitar work, and improvisational audience interaction. A six-time Independent Music Award winner, Sage has toured with an eclectic list of artists including Howard Jones, Beth Hart, Ani DiFranco, and Grammy® winners Shawn Colvin and Judy Collins – with whom she also recorded a critically-acclaimed duet of Neil Young’s “Helpless”. Her music has been dubbed “witty, graceful, and powerfully intimate” by NPR Music, and American Songwriter described Sage as “one of the most compelling and creative singers and songwriters of the modern era”.
