ABOUT THE HEADLINERS:

SATURDAY: Oz Noy Organ Trio featuring Anton Fig and Brian Charette

“It’s Jazz. It just doesn’t sound like it.”  This is how virtuoso guitarist Oz Noy describes his intoxicating blend of jazz, funk, rock, blues, and r&b.

Born in Israel, Oz started his professional career at the age of 13 playing jazz, blues, pop and rock music. By age 16, he was playing with top Israeli musicians and artists. By age 24, he was one of the most established studio guitar players in the country. Oz was also a member of the house band on Israel’s top-rated television show for more than two years.

SUNDAY: Mike LeDonne is a world renowned jazz pianist and Hammond organist. Born in 1956, the son of a jazz guitarist, Mike grew up in his father’s music store in Bridgeport, CT. After moving to New York City in 1978 he worked with a wide spectrum of jazz greats from Benny Goodman to Sonny Rollins, Bobby Hutcherson and George Coleman. He was a member of the Art Farmer/Clifford Jordan Quintet, spent 11 years as pianist and musical director for vibes legend Milt Jackson, and has been working with Benny Golson since 1997. Oscar Peterson named him as one of his favorite pianists of this era. He was nominated for “Best Keyboards” 2012 by the Jazz Journalists Association and won the Downbeat Critic’s Poll as “Rising Star” on organ that same year. He’s appeared at major venues and festivals all over the world and is on over 200 recordings, including 27 under his own name. He spent 4 years teaching at Juilliard and is currently on the faculty at William Patterson University in New Jersey.
