Angelo M.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
"ANGELO M. MADE OUR JAWS DROP When He Sat Down & Blistered the Frets..." - Acoustic Live
After a mill bankruptcy cost him his pension, Angelo M. (short for Melasecca) made the unlikely transition from steelworker to touring artist. With a Rootsy, Bluesy sound n Witty sense of humor Angelo M.'s a favorite at festivals & listening rooms: reviews hail him, "a Brilliant Guitarist" with "an Excellent Voice", and audiences from NY to CA have honored him with standing ovations. It's no surprise with influences like Chet Atkins, Ry Cooder, Duane Allman, & Leo Kottke that Angelo M.'s a Master finger style & slide guitarist/Dobro player, but there's more than just guitar hero flash here… Angelo M.'s a multi-award winning songwriter holding honors from the Prestigious Mountain Stage NewSong Contest; Billboard's World Song Contest n more. He's a humble, hardworking man who spent decades in a PA steel mill, but there's nothing understated about the talent of this bluesy virtuoso player and award winning writer; armed with a six string, Dobro & harp, he's down n dirty, no holds barred – an authentic link in the American Roots chain as a singer, player & writer.

Steve Forbert
WEBSITE

ABOUT THE ARTIST
As a young man from Meridian, Mississippi, Steve Forbert traveled to New York City and played guitar for spare change in Grand Central Station. He vaulted to international prominence with a folk-rock hit, “Romeo's Tune,” during a time when rootsy rock was fading out and the Ramones, Talking Heads and other New Wave and punk acts were moving in to the public consciousness. Still, critics raved about Steve's poetic lyrics and engaging melodies, and the crowds at CBGB's club in New York accepted him alongside those acts. “I've never been interested in changing what I do to fit emerging trends,” Forbert observes. “Looking back on it, I was helping to keep a particular American songwriting tradition alive at a time when it wasn't in the spotlight.”

After his first two records came a plethora of well-crafted, unforgettable songs on such albums as Little Stevie Orbit, Streets of This Town, The American in Me, Mission of the Crossroad Palms and Evergreen Boy. His tribute to Jimmie Rodgers, Any Old Time, was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2004. In October 2012, 35 years after his first album, Steve has released an exciting new one, Over With You. Its ten fresh but mature songs pinpoint a wide range of emotions that color personal relationships — emotions that most listeners have undoubtedly felt and struggled to understand at some point in their lives. “This is an album that has taken a lifetime to make,” explains Forbert. “You don't just pull these songs out of thin air — you have to live them.”

WEBSITE

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Kategory 5 is a powerhouse collaboration of some of the area's most experienced musicians.  Covering a wide range of genres, their goal is to provide a full course feast for the ears.

Kat Pigliacampi (lead and backing vocals and keyboards), originally from Delaware has been a Chadds Ford resident for 12 yrs.  She has been in numerous regional bands, and community theatre for over 30 years.  She has shared the stage with notable musicians and actors from NYC to DC.  The 70's/80's show is her favorite – since she performed many of these songs when they were 'new'!

Kyle Frederick (bass guitar)is a Delaware native and has been playing the bass for over 25 yrs.  His previous projects include the local bands 13th Floor , No Comment , Monster Joe, Goodfellas and Echoes (Pink Floyd tribute).  Kyle is the band ornament and scapegoat – aka 'Karl Leah Karloff'

Andy Logue (lead guitar, lead and backing vocals), has been playing guitar for 44 yrs, taking up the acoustic guitar at age 6 even though his mom said he'd never stick with it! Nevertheless, Andy took lessons until he caught his teacher playing "Stairway to Heaven" and the rest is history.  Andy is deeply immersed in local music and plays guitar with KRUSH, the area's premier Rush Tribute band.  His quick wit and humor almost surpass his musical talent!

Al Mullins (drums, lead and backing vocals), a Delaware native, started playing drums at 7 yrs old.  His previous projects include Monster Joe, and 13th Floor.  Al is the stabilizing force in the band.  He is the keeper of the remote for the 3 members who need a shock collar.

John Cassidy (lead and backing vocals, guitar, keyboards) was born a musical virtuoso.  A Delaware native, he has been active in local music since 1981 as a performer, writer, and visionary.  He has mastered all band instruments, having played drums originally in the Pink Floyd Tribute band 'Echoes'.  John is a gifted composer as well as the band musical director.  John's talents also include giving the 'stink eye' when a member gets out of line.

John, Kyle and Al were all in the band 13th floor together – back when mullets were actually in style.   John and Kyle are the owners of Crazy Diamond Recording Studio in Newark, DE.

Be a part of something special at this exclusive debut and join Kat, John, Andy, Al, and Kyle for an unforgettable evening of musical nostalgia and humor.

Since the release of the band's debut self-titled album in 2012, WaveRadio has garnered the attention of fans, promoters, radio stations and music publications both regionally and online. Having recently showcased in Austin's SXSW, the band has appeared in 7 major music conferences and festivals within the last year. With one album and one video behind them, WaveRadio is now onto the next batch of work. In the studio, the band will begin a new series of releases this October, to be promoted along their fall and winter tour dates.

"Undoubtedly the next big thing out of Philly… Sweeping atmospheric melodies, deep soul searing lyrics and without a doubt the tightest, most epic sound from a three piece band since U2." – Kevin McQuiston, WCHE Radio, West Chester PA

"It's (WaveRadio, by WaveRadio) memories in melodies that roll like roadside hills.  Songs are shadowy, tinged with grey but able to punch through powerfully.  It's raw rock that's been polished with a cloth dipped in motor oil." –Nikki Volpicelli, Philadelphia Area Music Showcase (phillymusicshowcase.com)

ABOUT THE ARTIST

"Richey entices you with sad and unembellished music that reveals an original spirit - and then she ensnares you for keeps by making you consider all the noiseless sensations that no songs can ever contain." Timothy White, Billboard Magazine

Those artists who find themselves stuck in the deepest of ruts two decades into their careers could learn a thing or two from veteran singer-songwriter Kim Richey. She's never been afraid to go where the inspiration is. Two-time Grammy-nominated Kim is a storyteller; a weaver of emotions and a tugger of heartstrings. Tender, poetic and aching with life's truths, Kim's songs transport you to her world, where words paint pictures and melodies touch the soul. And then there's her voice. Pure, arresting and honest, it makes you take notice; Kim has the kind of voice where if emotions were ribbons, they'd be streaming in rainbow colours from your iPod.
